Custom Multi-Crafter Point-of-Sale System for Crafters Guild Store

Crafters Guild Store needed a purpose-built point-of-sale system for a cooperative retail environment where products from many individual crafters are sold through a shared register.

Traditional retail software does not naturally handle crafter attribution, specialised payment methods, commission accounting, and settlement reporting without unnecessary complexity.

A shared register with many sellers behind it.

In a cooperative store the person at the register is rarely the person who made the item. Every sale has to stay attributable to the right crafter, all the way through to commission and settlement, or the accounting at the end of the cycle stops being trustworthy.

Off-the-shelf retail software can be bent into this shape, but only by adding steps the counter staff then have to remember. The store needed the opposite: fewer decisions at the register, not more.

Design the register for the person using it.

The system is designed around a simple, touch-friendly register experience for staff members with varying levels of technical experience. The workflow is built for speed during a real transaction rather than for configurability.

It also avoids collecting unnecessary customer information. A shopper does not have to hand over a name, phone number, or email address for the store to complete and account for a sale correctly.

How it is built.

The solution is a custom application rather than a generic POS configuration. Its architecture includes a Windows register client, a secure application service, structured database storage, migrations, role-based authorisation, audit logging, and automated tests.

What the store gets.

The result is a POS system designed around the store’s actual cooperative business model instead of forcing the store to adapt its procedures to generic retail software.

It provides a foundation for secure checkout, crafter-level accounting, specialised payment handling, reporting, and future website integration without collecting unnecessary shopper data.

Where it stands

A custom POS platform under active implementation and production preparation. Website synchronisation, remote management, complete settlement automation, and full production deployment are described here as designed capabilities, not as finished production behaviour.
